Ger Jones qualified from the PGA National Training Academy in the Belfry in November 1999, following assistant professional roles at Lee Valley Golf and Country Club, Limerick County Golf and Country Club and Fermoy Golf Club.
Ger took up the position of Head Professional at Newcastle West Golf Club, Ardagh Co. Limerick, in April 1999, where he remained for 3 years. In April 2002, Ger became the Head Professional in Tipperary Golf Club, a position he held for 5 years. In both clubs, Ger had the distinction of being their very first Professional.
In March 2007, Ger took up the position of Head Professional at Thurles Golf Club. He succeeded the First Gentleman of Thurles Golf Club, Sean Hunt, who faithfully served our members for over 30 years. On his retirement, Sean was made an Honorary Life Member.
