It is indeed a great honour to be Captains of Thurles Golf Club in this our Centenary year.

The Inaugural Meeting of Thurles Golf Club was held in the Grand Jury Room of Thurles Courthouse on 21st of January 1909. To commemorate this event, our Committees assembled in the Courthouse, exactly 100 years to the day, to read the minutes of this very first meeting to a full congregation of Club members.

In association with this celebration, we are currently preparing a history of our Club and its relationship with our town and county. It is planned that we will launch this journal in late autumn with the final chapter encapsulating our Centenary year.

This year, we would like to endeavour to improve our communication with our fellow members. To this end, we propose setting up a PR sub committee to investigate methods of keeping members up to date with current and upcoming events in the Club including texting, periodic newsletters and reviewing our website.
